What makes
the location special:

Órgiva lies at the foothills of the Alpujarras in southern Spain, surrounded by fertile valleys, mountain landscapes, and centuries-old villages. Known for its remarkable cultural diversity, the area is home to people from more than 70 nationalities who live alongside the local Andalusian community, creating a vibrant meeting place of cultures, traditions, and ways of life.

The town is ideally situated between the Mediterranean coast, only 40 minutes away, and the historic city of Granada, with its rich architecture, music, culture, and many attractions. Ancient irrigation channels carry water through the valleys, keeping the landscape unusually green and abundant, while natural springs, rivers, waterfalls, and mountain trails can be found throughout the surrounding region.

Over the years, Órgiva and the neighboring valleys have drawn travelers, musicians, artists, craftspeople, spiritual practitioners, and alternative communities from around the world. Their presence, together with the deep traditions of the Alpujarras, has helped make the area one of Spain’s most distinctive centers for creative, ecological, and contemplative living.

Another extraordinary feature of this region is the variety of landscapes and climates found within a remarkably short distance. One can travel from the subtropical Mediterranean coast through warm inland valleys and cooler, green mountain villages to the alpine environment of the Sierra Nevada – all within the same part of southern Spain.
